Kasabian - Kasabian 'Honoured' To Play Reading And Leeds Festivals

Kasabian say headlining the Reading and Leeds festivals will be the ''biggest honour'' of their career so far.

The 'Days are Forgotten' band are looking forward to appearing at the rock festivals this weekend, as they have spent years working their way to the top of the bill.

Guitarist Serge Pizzorno told the Daily Star newspaper: ''We've come a long way in the last year and experienced some amazing things, but the biggest honour will be headlining Reading and Leeds.

''We were first on years ago and we felt like we earned our stripes. I don't think this headline slot has come too early because we've got four records under our belts now and we appreciated what it means to be up there. And we want to make sure people have an incredible evening. We are so excited to play that show.''

The 'Fire' singers will be playing at Reading on Saturday (25.08.12) and Leeds on Sunday (26.08.12) and Serge says his own trips to the festivals as a fan made him want to form a band.

Serge added: ''Loads of people come up to us and say: 'Reading is where we first saw you in a tent years ago.' It's a rite of passage for many people.

''It was the moment I knew I wanted to do music. It's where I felt: 'Yeah, I want to be in a band.'''

Ahead of their huge shows the band performed at the Brixton Academy on Monday (20.08.12) where they covered Fatboy Slim's hit 'Praise You'.
