Kasabian Close T In The Park Festival

Kasabian closed Scotland's T In The Park festival last night (08.07.12).

The 'Velociraptor!' band brought the three-day event in Balado, Kinross-shire, to a finish playing hits including 'Underdog', 'Fire' and 'Days Are Forgotten' to a muddy but still enthusiastic crowd.

Singer Tom Meighan said he always looks forward to playing the event, saying: ''We kinda grew up with this festival. We were first on at midday, and we've worked our way up, man, which is great.

''To see where we've come from to where we are now, it's a Beautiful Thing. I don't think there's anything quite like it in Europe. It's a different vibe completely from all the other festivals we've done before.''

Earlier in the day rapper Nicki Minaj took to the stage nearly 50 minutes late and subsequently had to cut her set short.

Earlier in the day she had complained of illness, tweeting: ''Still sick but The Show Must Go On...right? #scotland (sic).''

Earlier in the festival, The Stone Roses played their first show in Scotland - and their first ever T in the Park - since reforming last year, headlining Saturday (07.07.12) night with a set of their classic tracks, including 'Love Spreads', 'I Wanna Be Adored' and 'Driving South'.

Other performers on Saturday included French DJ David Guetta and local stars Calvin Harris and Emeli Sande.

Following her performance, Emeli said: ''It was awesome today. Wet, but it's such a cool thing to have played T in the Park. It's a teenage dream come true.

''Festivals are just such a good thing - you can relax, you can chill out, it's all about the energy as opposed to making everything note-perfect. Me and the band had a great time.''

The event's Friday (06.07.12) night was headlined by Snow Patrol, and also saw performances from Florence + the Machine and Tinie Tempah.

The event was hailed a huge success, despite adverse weather conditions, which saw downpours on Saturday flood the site with mud.
