Karl Lagerfeld - Karl Lagerfeld Dreams Of Directing His Own Movie
Renowned fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld has admitted his burning ambition is to direct his own feature film.
Karl Lagerfeld wants to direct his own movie.
The busy German fashion designer, who has his own range K Karl Lagerfeld as well as creatively directing Chanel and Fendi, revealed he would love to follow in the footsteps of fellow designer Tom Ford - the man behind Oscar-nominated movie 'A Single Man' - and direct his own film.
He told Stylist magazine: "I'd still like to make a movie; work as an illustrator - it was my dream job when I was very young - try doing some advertising. Learn photography, do some sketching, more reading. 24 hours a day are a little too short for me."
The grey-haired sartorialist has also admitted he believes luxury is for a "few privileged people" with high-end fashion being a "complex thing" not designed for everyone.
He said: "People talk too much about luxury; it's a complex thing.
"The word is a 'front row' word. Just because something described as luxe costs a lot, it doesn't mean it's a luxury. It's a rare thing for a few privileged people."
