Franz Ferdinand - Kapranos Eyes Musical

FRANZ FERDINAND star ALEX KAPRANOS is eyeing a move into theatre - he wants to write a musical about a superstar singer.

The Take Me Out hitmaker is eager to start penning the stage show about a contemporary celebrity because he's convinced it will be a success.

He already has the subject of his stage play in mind - but refuses to confirm the rocker's name.

Kapranos tells Australian radio station Triple J, "I did have this amazing idea, I've been keeping it a secret for ages! I think it would make an amazing musical. The thing is, what would make a great musical would be to pick a contemporary figure, like somebody from either current times of the last 10 years (sic). Somebody who's had a big impact. And write it about them."
