Kanye West - Kanye West Says Taylor Swift Should Have Defended Him
KANYE WEST launched into a bizarre rant about his 'public haters', GEORGE W BUSH, and TAYLOR SWIFT, while performing at New York's Bowery Ballroom yesterday (24th November 2010), reports the Press Association. The 33-year-old was performing tracks from his latest album 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy', when he suddenly began the nine-minute rant.
The rapper's speech began as a triumphant announcement of his huge first week record sales, but he soon began to address old grievances with country-singer Swift and the former President of the United States. West said, "To do an album after the after the year that I've had and all the 'Your career is over'. To come back and do 100,000 the first day digital alone... what that number says is that people want me to keep making music". The star then strangely remarked, "If you're a child that's being abused by your parent, or you're a girl that's being abused by your boyfriend, the greatest win you can ever have is for that person to hit you in public! You see?".
Controversially, the rapper then revisited the issue of TAYLOR SWIFT and his famous outburst at the 2009 VMA Awards, saying, "I rode it, I rode it. Taylor never came to my defence in any interview, and rode the wave, and rode it, and rode it". However, he expressed his regret at remarks he made about Mr Bush, saying, "Everyone wants to villainise people... what I said about George Bush... I was emotional, that was not exactly the way I wanted to word it".
