Kanye West Booed For Adolf Hitler Remarks At Festival
The rapper began his set 30 minutes late, but apologised to the crowd, telling them his performance would make up for it. However, later in the set, Kanye remarked, "I walk through the hotel and I walk down the street, and people look at me like I'm (expletive) insane, like I'm Hitler. One day the light will shine through and one day people will understand everything I ever did". Despite the chorus of boos, the rapper won back favour after paying tribute to the recently deceased Amy Winehouse. West said he met the singer several years ago during Paris Fashion Week, before playing snippets of her hits 'Tears Dry on Their Own' and 'Back to Black'. He signed off by ranting at the media, saying, ".This is for MCQueen, for Amy, for Michael and for all the media, can you lighten up on all your artists that are still here?"
Kanye West and Jay Z released their hugely anticipated album 'Watch the Throne' on Monday (8th July 2011). The record also features Beyonce, Otis Redding and MR HUDSON.
