Kaiser Chiefs' Mail Album

Kaiser Chiefs are writing their new album by mail, with singer Ricky Wilson and drummer Nick Hodgson trading ideas by post.

Kaiser Chiefs are writing their new album by mail.

The British pop group are working on the follow up to their last album, 2008s 'Off With Their heads' but are talking their time, and planning to record in drummer Nick Hodgson's newly built studio.

Frontman Ricky Wilson said: "We're playing around at the moment.

"I'm sending him words and lyrics in the mail. He's sending me CD's in the mail. "We're actually utilising the Royal Mail quite a lot - it's quite nice because you find you're a little bit less embarrassed about what you send each other."

He also said the band being on a hiatus since last year when they appeared at the Leeds festival has been a good thing for the group - which also includes guitarist Andrew 'Whitey' White, bassist Simon Rix and keyboardist Nick 'Peanut' Baines.

Ricky added: "After a couple of months we got bored, then I got really bored, then mind-numbingly bored and that's when you start thinking about the fact you want to get up and do something again.

"I haven't felt this creative since we first started."
