Jw Anderson Unveils Topshop Collection
JW Anderson has unveiled his debut collection for Topshop.
The Fashion designer's first line for Sir Philip Green's clothing emporium is being launched on September 14 to coincide with the start of London Fashion Week, and JW says he wanted to make a youthful and ''accessible'' collection based on his own sister.
JW told VOGUE.co.uk: ''For me, Topshop is integral to London Fashion Week. It's everything that sums it up.
''I have worked on this collection with my sister in my mind, because I wanted it to be accessible.
''I feel like we are at a time where we want a fanfare; something fun, accessible and easy.
''I approached it in the same way I do all my collections. It was unique and has some really iconic pieces. I wanted it to be the idea of what a JW Anderson store could be.''
The special line will feature ready-to-wear clothes as well as footwear and stationary to bridge the gap between designer and high street by introducing his trademark esthetic to the public.
JW explained: ''I think it still has the same story-telling element. It's for the same girl and is based upon the same idea.
''I feel collaborations should be a reflection, not something that veers off into another zone.
''The high street and the luxury market are inherently close. Without one the other doesn't exist. I feel like that is modernity now.''
A second line will follow in early 2013 after the initial launch on September 14.
