The Vaccines - Justin Young Fears Throat Issues Will Return

The rocker was told by a doctor that a polyp on his vocal cords would require surgery, his third time under the knife in nine months, prompting the band to call of its U.S. tour as well as shows in Japan and Europe.

Young now takes precautionary measures to ensure he doesn't further damage his voice, but he worries daily about a possible relapse.

He tells Scotland's Daily Record, "My vocal cords were haemorrhaging, either from shouting socially in bars and being an idiot, or being overly enthusiastic and singing too loud. I had three operations last year because it kept happening.

"I couldn't even talk or I would break into falsetto. I'd try to sing a note and nothing would come out. I was constantly having to clear my throat. The doctors have said it could come back. It worries me that it will return... I do live every day in fear of it."
