Every time a new Coen brothers film is announced, and any time Justin Timberlake or Marcus Mumford make new music, there is excitement. So when all three parties combine in a music & film synergy, well that’s exciting too.

Timberlake and the main-Mumford-man are set to employ their musical talents to the silver screen, as cult filmmakers The Coen Brothers embark on another feature length picture called 'Inside Llewyn Davis'. “I did work with Marcus Mumford on the soundtrack… Marcus and myself, we all kind of worked on the music together and I don’t know any other world where we would have the opportunity to collaborate like that but it was so much fun,” Timberlake explained to Capital FM. “So not only will that be a great movie, but the music to it will be fantastic.” Timberlake also used his on-air opportunity to defend his 8-minute track, Mirrors. “When we were making the record I said, ‘If Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin can do 10-minute songs and Queen can do 10-minute songs then why can’t we?” We can think of a few reasons.

Justin Timberlake... not wearing his Suit & Tie

This movie news punctuates what has been a remarkable return to prominence for Timberlake. His Suit & Tie single, featuring Jay-Z was received very well, with most critics and fans claiming he’s back to his best. Add to that his pair of excellent shows in London – once at The Brits and another at The Forum in Kentish Town. And an upcoming tour with the self-appointed CEO of hip-hop; well, it’s like he never left us!
