TV Funny man Justin Lee Collins, had threatened to jump off a bridge after some personal problems involving an ex girlfriend and an email came to the surface, reports The Scottish Daily Record.

The problems started when his current wife found an email from his ex-girlfriend, Anna Larke. “Karen had confronted me with the email and said, ‘What’s this?’ We had an emotional discussion. Both of us were very upset.” It wasn’t until the 38-year old was standing at the bridge, that he phoned his wife to say: “I’m standing right next to Clifton Suspension Bridge and feel like throwing myself off. I think it’s best we stop seeing each other.” Collins also told the court: “I had no intention of doing it, I was trying to impress a point that this was a really stressful situation.” Karen, his wife, found the email in December 2010 and their marriage collapsed after he spent Christmas at home for the sake of sons Archie and Harvey, now aged seven and four.

Asked if he tore her clothes, he said: “I recall a vest top she wore for bed was slightly torn once in an episode of love play.” He also denied calling Anna a “fat f***ing dog”. Collins added: “Anna would say things like, ‘Why don’t you go back to your fat wife?’ I ignored it but, on one occasion, I recall I did say back, ‘Or I can just stay here with my fat girlfriend’.”
