Justin Bieber Has Never Believed In Santa Claus

Justin Bieber may credit his mother Pattie with his rise to pop stardom, but the 17-year-old has revealed he was never given the chance to believe in Santa Claus as a child. The Baby hitmaker will no doubt enjoy his Christmas break after a busy year, but he won't be heading to bed early come December 24, 2011.

During an interview with AOL Music, Bieber claims to have never experienced the feeling of waiting for Santa's arrival, saying, "My mom always told me there wasn't a Santa. That was her logic: She thought if I grew up knowing about Santa then finding out he wasn't real, that it would be like she was lying to me". Justin claims his mother feared a boy-who-cried-wolf scenario and thought her son wouldn't believe there was a God if he felt betrayed about Santa. Nevertheless, the singer applauded his mother's parenting skills, saying her decision was "straight-up and honest" and adding, "I didn't tell my friends or ruin it for anyone - I was a good kid!" Despite not believing in Saint Nicholas, Bieber and his family came up with a unique way of exchanging gifts, with the singer explaining, "We played a game on Christmas Day where everyone brought a girl gift and a boy gift. You roll the dice and if you get doubles, you get to pick a present and if you don't, it's the next person's turn. One time I really wanted a Game Boy but I ended up with pots and pans, which was disappointing".

Justin has certainly been getting into the festive mood this year, what with the release of his huge selling Christmas album 'Under the Mistletoe', featuring collaborations with Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men. He also performed at Stevie Wonder's House Full of Toys holiday benefit in Los Angeles on Saturday (December 17, 2011).

There IS such a thing as Santa Claus! he lived around 200 AD, and was well known as a gift-giver, a protector of children, and a man of great faith who spent his whole life - and his life-savings - to help those less fortunate than he. But even though St. Nicholas himself isn't with us any longer, his Spirit of Giving lives on. We see St. Nick represented as the jolly round guys in the red suits and funny hats. But there is another way we see St. Nick, and the way he lives on - in someone who loves them dearly. It's good for a child to dream..

Great for him and his mom. It never made sense to me to lie to kids like that. No wonder they grow up and end up lying to their parents about things. This huge lie is devastating to kids when they find out. I'm 50 years old and I still hate my parents for lying to me all those years. No just for the lie, but for humiliating me for believing them. Stop lying to your kids. All you who buy all those Santa Clause images are crazy. By the way, they're all made in China.

Agree with this method. Isn't the world magical enough to little kids without some weird fiction? Though some people may think he was "never given a chance" to believe in Santa Claus, he also never had to go through the shock that it was all a big construed lie that every grown-up was in on.
