Lil Twist was arrested on Thursday (11th July) whilst driving his friend Justin Bieber's car. According to TMZ's sources the 20-year-old had run a red light, broke the speed limit and was smoking marijuana at the time.

The rapper was arrested in the L.A. neighbourhood of Calabasas whilst he drove to Bieber's house. The L.A police made the arrest on Thursday 11th July around 3.30am. He was taken to a nearby Sheriff's office where he spent 8 hours in custody. His bail (evidently paid) was set at $5000. 

The 20-year-old was pulled over after running a red light whilst driving somewhere between 60-70mph in a zone with a 30mph speed limit, according to Fox News. 

Evidently, driving a swanky sports car; registered to someone else in the middle of the night whilst indulging in drugs is not a terribly good idea. 

However, Lil Twist seems to have little consideration for his law breaking on three counts: driving under the influence; running a red light and driving above the speed limit.

No one is entirely sure why he was in possession of Bieber's car and Lil Twist declined to comment when TMZ reporters questioned him outside the Sheriff's office.  

Lil Twist, born Christopher Lynn Moore, is a 20-year-old Hip-Hop artist and one of Bieber's close friends. His relationship with Bieber is mainly why Lil Twist appears at all in the public eye. He has recorded one studio album entitled Bad Decisions, rather appropriate considering his actions of yesterday. 

Speaking of bad decisions, Bieber's recent antics have been the focus of numerous news reports worldwide. A video of the singer urinating in a mop bucket whilst out at a New York nightclub when viral on Wednesday (10th July); the singer has also been involved in a number of speeding and reckless driving offences and allegations. Lil Twist's arrest only creates more ammunition for the argument that the "Boyfriend" singer may be having something of a 'meltdown'.
