Justin Bieber wishes he could go back to having a "normal" life.

The teen pop star is one of the most famous people on the planet but he admits it would be fantastic to be able to escape the limelight and spend some time relaxing at home with his mother Pattie in Canada.

In his upcoming autobiography 'First Step 2 Forever', Justin revealed: "Now that I'm here, I sometimes wish I could just go back home and chill.

"But if I was at home and I wasn't doing this, I'd wish that I was in this position."

Justin's parents Pattie and Jeremy separated before his first birthday and although he always wanted to have a regular upbringing when he was younger, the 16-year-old singer now appreciates his childhood.

He explained: "When I was little I longed for a 'normal' life with a 'normal' family. Mom worked her b**t off at whatever job she could get to keep a roof over our heads. There no luxuries but it never occurred to me that we were poor. We had each other, which was everything."

Justin's autobiography 'First Step 2 Forever' is out this week.
