Julianne Moore isn't ''crazy'' about getting older.

The 52-year-old actress wishes age wouldn't take its toll on her looks, but insists she will never have cosmetic surgery because she feels it would have an impact on her career.

She said: ''Everyone should do what they feel is best for them. Personally, I've not had anything done. My job means too much to me. It's important to be able to play women at all points in their lives and I don't like products that freeze your face in time. I need to show expressions. I'm not crazy about the idea of getting older, but it's part of life.''

'The Kids Are All Right' actress wants to inspire people to think of beauty at different ages, rather than thinking someone is attractive despite their advancing years.

She told the French edition of Vogue magazine: ''You often hear, 'She's attractive for her age'. A terribly condescending phrase, I find. The message I want to spread is the opposite. I want to give a positive message of beauty at a certain moment, at a specific age. It's very different and it appeals to me. It's a very inspiring and modern way of thinking.''
