Julia Roberts' Relocation Concerns
Julia Roberts was concerned about ''uprooting'' her husband and three children to film 'Eat Pray Love' but did so because she felt connected to the story.
Julia Roberts was worried about "uprooting" her family to shoot 'Eat Pray Love'.
The 42-year-old actress admits signing up to the project - which saw her on location in Italy, India and Bali - wasn't an easy decision but she thought she had to do it because the story resonated with so many people.
Discussing the needs of her husband Daniel Moder and children Hazel and Finn, five and Henry, three, she said: "To be honest I was concerned about uprooting the family for such a long period.
"And then I thought about how Liz Gilbert's story resonates with so many people - because we all go through phases in our life when we feel as though we're lacking something.
"So I wanted to do it. It's such a wonderful story."
'Eat Pray Love' is based on the real-life story of Liz, who travelled the world following her divorce, later writing a book about her experience.
Julia claims she can relate to the character, although not in such an extreme way.
She told the Metro newspaper: "For Liz Gilbert, her journey starts at the end of a very long, complicated relationship and I think she found that she and her husband were at an impasse, based on their characters and what they were looking for in their lives.
"We all go through phases like that - I think hers is much bigger and broader. It's really a crisis in her life but we all go through some version of that."
