Wizard Of Oz - Judy Garland Show Rights Up For Auction

The rights to Wizard Of Oz star Judy Garland's mid-60s Tv variety show series are set to hit the auction block with bidding beginning at $1 million (£625,000).

Just months after the late icon's ruby slippers and gingham dress from Wizard of Oz caused a stir at auction, one super fan can now snap up full ownership to the U.S. rights of The Judy Garland Show. The package includes broadcast rights, home video/Dvd, video on-demand, streaming and clip clearance.

Bosses at the Royalty Exchange are putting all 26 classic episodes of Garland's variety show, which aired in 1963 and 1964, up for sale.

Garland landed a reported $24 million (£15 million) to front the show, which featured guests like Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett and the star's teenage daughter, Liza Minnelli.

The rights are being sold by current owner Darryl Payne, who acquired the rights to the 26 one-hour episodes from Garland's former husband Sid Luft in 1998.

The online auction ends on 20 December (12).
