Judge Orders Cusack Stalker To Stand Trial
Emily Leatherman was arrested outside the actor's Malibu home in March (08) and charged with stalking the High Fidelity star, as well as petty theft and violating a restraining order in connection to a previous arrest.
The 33-year-old was held on $500,000 (GBP250,000) bail following an arraignment hearing earlier this month (Apr08).
If Leatherman is found guilty on one count of felony stalking, she faces up to three years in prison, according to Los Angeles' District Attorney's office.
In court, she will also face one misdemeanour charge of failing to obey a restraining order and one of petty theft, with each of these charges carrying a maximum sentence of six months imprisonment.
In 2006, Cusack was granted a temporary restraining order stipulating Leatherman must stay at least 500 feet (150 metres) away from him, his home, his work, his car and offices or companies in which he does business.
Leatherman was also arrested last year (07) outside the Beverly Hills, California, home of actor Tom Cruise, also on suspicion of violating a restraining order.
