Judge Optimistic About Doherty's Progress
While the Babyshambles frontman "impressed" Judge JANE MCIVOR at London's Thames Magistrates' Court last month (SEP06), his efforts since then have been "mediocre".
The judge said weekly appointments under the order had not been "as successful as expected" but said "it's optimistic-ish".
Defence counsel BRUCE CLARK acknowledged it was a "mixed bag" but insisted, "On the whole progress is being made."
Doherty pleaded guilty earlier this year (AUG06) to four charges of possessing class A drugs including heroin and cocaine and one charge of cannabis possession. He is due to be sentenced on 4 December (06).
The singer was released on bail on condition he check into London clinic The Priory, keeping to a strict night-time curfew.
The judge ordered Doherty to return for another review on 17 January (07).
