Joss Whedon Back For More The Avengers
Filmmaker Joss Whedon is returning to The Avengers franchise to write and direct the forthcoming sequel.
The superhero blockbuster has smashed box office records around the world since its release earlier this year (12) and recently became only the third movie to pass the $600 million (£375 million) mark in the U.S., behind James Cameron's megahits Titanic and Avatar.
Bosses at Disney, the studio behind the film, confirmed Whedon's involvement in the next installment of The Avengers on Tuesday (07Aug12) and revealed that he is also working on a live-action TV series based in the Marvel universe.
However, no other details about the small screen project had been released as WENN went to press.
