Joss Stone - Joss Stone Always Agrees To Charity Requests
British singer Joss Stone refuses to turn down invitations to help charities, because she finds it impossible to pick and choose good causes.
The soul star has performed in several fundraisers, including Live 8 in 2005 and the all-star recording of Do They Know It's Christmas? for Band Aid 20 in 2004.
And Stone admits she struggles to snub requests from charitable organisations, because she's in a position to help them all.
She tells The Huffington Post, "When I'm doing these events or whatever it is that I find myself doing for charity, I'm always asked the same question - 'What makes this more important than the other charities?' I always give the same answer - 'Nothing does.'
"Because a problem is a problem, you know? If I have the opportunity to do something, whether it's singing a song or spreading the word - I mean, I'm not a brain surgeon, I can't figure out all these problems - but at the end of the day, if I'm in positions where I can stand on a platform and be heard, it's better to be heard saying something that's worth listening to rather than just talking about some gibberish that doesn't make any difference in the world.
"So, when I get asked, 'Why are you doing this charity and not another charity?' my answer is usually, 'Well, why not?' At the end of the day, if I'm free that day to give a hand, I'll do it."
