Artist Jorge Selaron has been found dead at his most famous work in Brazil.

The Chilean's body was discovered spreadeagled across the Selaron Stairs, known locally as the Escadaria Selaron, a famous landmark he created in Rio de Janeiro.

Selaron, 65, was famous in South America for using mirrors and flamboyant tiles to decorate the eye-catching steps at the Convent of Santa Teresa.

His body was found lying across the tourist attraction on Thursday (10Jan13). The cause of his death is unknown. Police are investigating and have not ruled out the possibility he was murdered, according to local reports.
