Jones Pleads With Burberry For Welsh Jobs
LATEST: Singer SIR TOM JONES has become the latest star to plead with Burberry over the fashion house's decision to move their Welsh factory to China.
The DELILAH hitmaker is campaigning to stop the closure of Burberry's Treorchy factory in the Rhondda Valley, which currently employs over 300 people.
Jones, who hails from nearby Pontypridd, says, "As a local boy, I know how important this factory has been to the community in the Rhondda.
"I therefore urge the Burberry management to withdraw their plans to close the Treorchy factory."
Actors EMMA THOMPSON, IOAN GRUFFUDD and RHYS IFANS, as well as British royals QUEEN ELIZABETH II and PRINCE CHARLES, have also backed the Welsh workers.
