The Smiths - Johnny Marr To Receive Honorary Degree

Former The Smiths rocker Johnny Marr is set to become a doctor after landing an honorary degree from a college in his native England.
The guitarist will pick up the certificate from the University of Salford in Manchester on 19 July (12).
Marr, who has been teaching music courses at the school since 2007, insists he's delighted to be recognised: "I'm very pleased to be given an honorary degree by Salford University. I've enjoyed working with the students in my capacity as visiting professor and hopefully we can find some more opportunities for creative work in the future."
