Johnny Depp - Johnny Depp To Join Tatum In 21 Jump Street
Johnny Depp, the 47-year-old American actor, will make a cameo appearance in the movie version of '21 Jump Street', according to the Los Angeles Times. Johnny Depp starred in the original 80's crime show about a group of youthful undercover officers fighting crime in high schools and colleges.
Hollywood star Channing Tatum, who stars in the forthcoming movie adaptation, had previously claimed he was "actively trying" to get Depp to appear in the film. It is not yet known whether the 'Pirates of the Caribbean Star' will reprise his role as police officer Tom Hanson, but the actor joked about the possibility last year, telling EW.com, "Someone will say, 'Whatever happened to Tom Hanson?' and they'll find me somewhere hoarding jars of peanut butter and shaking in my underpants". Little is known about the plot of the movie, except that Tatum and Jonah Hill's characters will be "fighting the good fight" against a new drug plaguing a high school. Speaking enthusiastically about the movie, Tatum said, "I've never read a script that I'm like, 'How are they letting us do this?' I don't even mean the censoring board. I'm like, 'No, I can't believe they're going to put this in a movie.' It's freaking ridiculous".
Johnny Depp is expected to film his cameo appearance shortly after shooting begins on '21 Jump Street' later this month. The actor will then start work on Tim Burton's gothic horror tale 'Dark Shadows', about the life of vampire Barnabas Collins.
