John Lennon's Murderer Planned To Live With Christian Minister
The 57 year old, who fatally shot the Beatles icon outside his Manhattan home in December, 1980, has been serving 20 years to life behind bars for the crime and he appealed for freedom for the seventh time last week (22Aug12).
A transcript of the court hearing was released on Wednesday (29Aug12), revealing Chapman's hopes to receive guidance from a minister in the village of Medina upon his release.
He told the board the church leader, who has not been identified, had offered him two jobs and was willing to help him get back on his feet and get his life together.
Chapman said: "I've had a lot of waves coming through my life and I know how to handle it now."
However, Chapman's request was denied by all three board members and he must now wait another two years before filing a new appeal.
