John Landis - John Landis Settles Dispute With Michael Jackson Estate Bosses

Moviemaker John Landis and the administrators of Michael Jackson's estate have settled their three-year legal battle over rights to the Thriller video.
The promo's director Landis and producer George Folsey, Jr. sued Jackson and his company, Optimum Productions, five months before his death in June 2009, claiming they were owed money for work on the iconic 1983 video.
When Jackson died in June, 2009, Landis and his partner were forced to file a claim on his estate, stating they were still more than $2 million (£1.25 million) out of pocket.
Landis also took issue with Jackson's plans to produce a Thriller musical - and moved to halt the venture.
But it appears the legal battle is over and on Friday (31Aug12), estate bosses released a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, which read, "The Estate of Michael Jackson, John Landis and George Folsey Jr. have reached an amicable settlement of the actions that were pending in the Los Angeles Superior Court relating to the legendary short motion picture Michael Jackson's Thriller and the documentary The Making Of Michael Jackson's Thriller. The settlement terms are confidential."

@Konnie - He did try sue him when he was alive, but it's taken years and years to get the money back. He filed the lawsuit in January 2009 six months before Jackson died. Read up on it in future, you only sound stupid.

It's really pitiful, everytime I turn around, there is always somebody claiming what MJJ owes them. MY POINT IS WHY NOT COLLECT FROM A PERSON WHILE THEY ARE LIVING? I AM SURE THESE PEOPLE WOULD HAVE HAD SOME TYPE OF CONTRACT WITH MJJ. IT'S JUST TO IMPOSSIBLE TO BELIEVE THE KING OF POP OWES EVERY TOM, DICK, HARRY, AND MARY. MJ, I QUESS HAD VERY BAD LUCK WHEN IT CAME TO CHOOSING HIS FRIENDS, AND BUSINESS ASSOCIATES.

These type of 'friends' are everywhere... as per their instructions from eons ago to infiltrate all levels of business so they can dominate the world without getting their hands dirty. All get screwed except them... they flourish from every disaster since they're behind it. But their end will be according to their works and they can't run from that.
