John Cleese - John Cleese: 'I Never Attracted Groupies'

The Monty Python star, who has been married three times, insists he never enjoyed the perks of stardom other celebrities indulge in, and reveals he only ever had one saucy encounter with a female fan - and she was ugly.

He tells Lifehacker.com, "At 72 I'm beginning to give up hope. The only girl who ever sort of threw herself at me was when I was performing in Cardiff I think it was on the stage tour in 1973 and she came up to me at the stage door and was obviously very, very interested. And I tell you she could have played in the second row for the Welsh rugby team without anyone noticing there was anything up. So no, the whole idea of girls throwing themselves at you because of fame, it's not part of my experience."
