Joey Ramone - Joey Ramone's Personal Items Up For Auction

Fans of late singer Joey Ramone will have the chance to snap up some of the star's personal items when they go under the hammer later this month (Feb13).

The Ramones frontman lost his battle with lymphoma in 2001 and his family has decided it's time to sell the punk rocker's belongings, including clothing and other memorabilia.

His iconic, custom-made black leather motorcycle jacket with zebra skin pocket flaps, cuffs and epaulets is the star item in an online sale with RR Auction, alongside scraps of paper on which Ramone scribbled song lyrics.

Bobby Livingston, from RR Auction, tells the New York Post, "It's been over 10 years since Joey passed away. So it is time for them (Ramone's family) to sell some of this stuff and get it in the hands of collectors and people who love Joey."

The sale runs from 14 to 21 February (13) and the auctioneers plan to show the items on Thursday (07Feb13) at music venue The Bowery Electric in New York.
