Joe Jackson Launches Bid For Share Of Son's Estate

MICHAEL JACKSON's father JOSEPH has launched a court bid for a share of the King of Pop's estate.

Jackson Sr. enjoyed a fraught relationship with the superstar during his lifetime and was excluded from his will, following Michael's death in June (09).

Five months on, the patriarch has mounted a legal challenge, and filed papers in Los Angeles County Court claiming there's "no justification" for his exclusion and that he is "entitled to his own independent family allowance".

Joseph wants a judge to grant him help covering his $15,425 (GBP9640) monthly expenses.

He has recruited business manager Leonard Rowe, who claims to have been a consultant for Michael, to help his cause.

In the legal papers Rowe alleges Michael gave his parents a $60,000 (GBP37,500) monthly allowance, which they split.

Joseph claims the estate can afford to help him out, because it has "earned more than $100 million (GBP62.5 million) dollars in the first seven weeks following Michael Jackson's death" and is "well able to afford a family allowance for Joe Jackson."

Ironically, Rowe is suing the Jackson estate for flights and business meetings he set up while working as the King of Pop's advisor earlier this year (09).

Your comments were: Ditto to all the previous comments. At Michael's memorial service his brother Marlon said, "Maybe now Michael, they will leave you alone". Now his own father is one of the sharks circling. Michael had his reasons, and they were good ones, for leaving Joseph Jackson out of his will and that should be respected. He wanted his mother, children and various charities to receive the money from his estate. Yes, shame on you Joe Jackson. Your activities and words since Michael's death only further proved to everyone who you really are, even though anyone who has followed Michael's life already knew what a low life you really are. SHAME ON YOU! R.I.P. Michael--so many people really loved you and will always remember you with love and respect.

I agree, Joe leave your grandchildren alone. You haunted Michael all his life and if he wanted you to have his money....well, he didn't so stop being the leach you have always been. You can't even leave your son alone when he is dead so God only knows how bad you really were while he was alive. Shame, Shame on you, for once think of the kids and your wife and stop thinking about yourself. You are a blood sucking, money grabbing bastard! Let Michael have some peace for God's sack.
