JLS are teaming up with 'I Can Transform Ya' rocker Chris Brown on their second album.
JLS are teaming up with Chris Brown on their second album.
The British boy band are presently in the US working on new tracks and have teamed with controversial star Chris - who was convicted of a vicious assault against his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 - in their bid to break America.
A source close to the group - which includes Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Jonathan 'JB' Gill and Oritse Williams - told The Sun newspaper: "JLS have been working in the studio with Chris. Aston was really excited about it and has told pals back in the UK. He was quite star-struck.
"They have been writing and recording together and delivered some great stuff for the second album."
Although the band are hoping 'I Can Transform Ya' singer Chris can raise their profile Stateside, the star has had trouble re-launching his own career after his conviction, and has been particularly vocal about his upset at the lack of radio play he has received in support of his third album 'Graffiti'.
JLS have already decided to preview one new track called 'The Club Is Alive' - which reinterprets a chorus line from musical 'The Sound Of Music' - which will be previewed on UK radio next week.
A source close to the group has said of the new track: "They have taken one of the most well-known pieces of music of the last century and stamped their mark on it.
"It's quite a radical reinterpretation, but it really works. The verses don't stick too closely to the original, but the chorus certainly owes it a debt."
JLS were hit by a minor emergency this week when Aston was rushed to the dentist in Miami with a bad tooth and had to undergo immediate root canal treatment. He hopes to be fit to promote the new song next week.
