Jk Rowling - Jk Rowling Working On Harry Potter Encyclopaedia
Anticipation is already running high for Jk Rowling's debut book for adults but now, the Harry Potter author has also revealed that a Harry Potter encyclopaedia is underway, as she had previously promised it would be. "For a long time I have been promising an encyclopedia of Harry's world," Rowling states in the FAQ section of her website "and I have started work on this now - some of it forms the new content in Pottermore. It is likely to be a time-consuming job, but when finished I shall donate all royalties to charity."
Four years ago, Jk Rowling took the American publisher RDR Books to court, over their plans to publish the Harry Potter Lexicon. The book was intended to be an A-Z of the Potter stories, but Rowling slammed the publisher for attempting a "wholesale theft of 17 years of my hard work." Rowling has always refused to say "never" to the possibility of another Harry Potter, though with the news of an adult novel on the horizon, the re-emergence of Harry and co. looks increasingly unlikely. The Guardian reports today that the author tried to nip hopes of an eighth Potter story in the bud by saying "I have no immediate plans to write another Harry Potter novel, and I do think that I have rounded off Harry's story in the seven published books."
Rowling's next novel, The Casual Vacancy, will be published later in 2012. The story revolves around a small parish town named Pagford, described by Rowling's new publisher Little, Brown, as a quintessential English dwelling "with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey."
