Jk Rowling - Jk Rowling New Book: Author Joins 'Twilight' Publishers
Jk Rowling has signed a new publishing deal and this time around it's for writing novels for adults. The famed Harry Potter author has signed a new agreement with Little, Brown - the same publishing house that release Stephanie Meyer's Twilight novels.
Although Jk Rowling's Harry Potter books have a wide appeal amongst children, teenagers and adults, this will mark the first time that Rowling has written specifically for an adult audience. A report for Associated Press quotes Rowling as saying "Although I've enjoyed writing it every bit as much, my next book will be very different to the Harry Potter series, which has been published so brilliantly by Bloomsbury and my other publishers around the world." She went on to say that "The freedom to explore new territory is a gift that Harry's success has brought me, and with that new territory it seemed a logical progression to have a new publisher." Rowling's fans will be keen to see whether or not her work transfers successfully into the adult market, like authors such as Sherman Alexie and E.B. White. Her fellow Little, Brown author Stephanie Meyer also wrote the best-selling adult book 'The Host' in 2008.
Jk Rowling's Harry Potter books broke sales records across the globe, published by Bloomsbury in Britain and Scholastic in the United States. The books were also adapted into a hugely successful film franchise. The last of the Harry Potter films, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two, was released last year.
