Jim Carrey has revealed penguins calm him down.
The comedic actor appeared on the 'Today' show this morning (16.06.11) to talk about his new movie 'Mr Popper's Penguins' - which stars Carla Gugino and Angela Lansbury - and he described the feathered cast members as "magic" because "all your angst" disappears when they enter the room.
Talking about the film to 'Today' show host Ann Curry, he said: "I like animals. I like animals, and they like me apparently, especially penguins. I've always liked penguins because, as Steve Martin says, you can never be unhappy when someone is playing a banjo, the same thing goes for penguins. They come in a room, you drop all your angst, everything goes away.
"Penguins are magic ... you rub their bellies, and all your dreams come true. My dream was to be pecked mercilessly."
When he was asked about whether he agrees with the saying, "you should never work with children or animals", he explained: "I love it! I love to be spontaneous so if something is going to throw me off the track of what I'm actually thinking about that's fine with me."
But Jim took the animal theme of his film a little far when his arrival on the programme saw him come in on all fours pretending to be a horse, which resulted in host Matt Lauer climbing on his back.
