Veteran TRAFFIC rocker JIM CAPALDI died in a London clinic in the early hours of this morning (28JAN05). He was 60.

The LOW SPARK OF HIGH HEELED BOYS star, who was surrounded by his family when he passed away, was suffering from cancer of the stomach.

Drummer Capaldi founded Traffic in 1967 with Steve Winwood, Chris Wood and DAVE MASON. Amid several line-up changes he also sang and wrote songs for the British band, before embarking on a solo career.

Traffic reformed briefly in 1994.

Capaldi is survived by his wife ANINHA and two daughters TABITHA, 28, and TALLULAH, 26.
