Jessie J - Jessie J Blasts Drunken Irish Crowd
Jessie J says she was shocked to see people so drunk they "could not even stand" while playing at a University in Ireland, reports Bbc News. 23-year-old Jessie J, real name Jessica Cornish, says her show at Trinity College in Dublin was probably "one of the hardest" of her career.
The singer, who recently scooped the prestigious 'Bbc Sound Of' prize for 2011, does not drink alcohol because of a medical condition. She said girls were unconscious and people were trampling each other at the Irish show, tweeting, "I'm not upset they weren't all listening. It upset me to see so many young people so not with it. I'm not used to it. It's hard to sing when I just wanted to go into the crowd and help all the crying girls who were being squashed". Her comments sparked anger amongst some students who attended the event and Jessie J took to her Twitter page to clarify her criticism, saying, "Can I just clear up that last night was a university ball and it was students. I was just shocked at how intoxicated they were and I was genuinely worried for them. I'm not used to it. That's all".
Jessie J was joined by bands such as The Streets and The Rubberbandits for the gig, held in the grounds of Ireland's oldest university.
