Jessica Simpson's Touching Mother's Day Gift
The couple welcomed its first child, Maxwell Drew Johnson, on 1 May (12) and Simpson celebrated her new parenting role less than two weeks later on the U.S. holiday (13May12) with her husband-to-be.
The fashion mogul reveals Johnson made the day extra special by designing a special diamond pendant for Simpson, featuring the baby's emerald birthstone and an insignia that represents the tot's nickname, Moonface.
Explaining the strange moniker to People magazine, Simpson says, "There was a tarp up (when I was giving birth), but seeing everything happen through Eric's face was a moment I'll never forget. He was holding her hand and mine, so immediately we wanted that family bond. It was emotional. She came out looking like the moon."
Retired American footballer Johnson also had additional copies of the necklace made for the blonde beauty's singer sister Ashlee, Maxwell's grandmothers and her godmother, Simpson's best pal Cacee Cobb.
And Simpson reveals "super dad" Johnson is already a natural at being a parent, adding, "He has found his calling. Maxwell's definitely going to be a daddy's girl."
Simpson shows off the first pictures of little Maxwell in the new issue of People.
