Jessica Lange - Jessica Lange And Sam Shepard Split - Two Years Ago
Jessica Lange, the American actress, and her partner Sam Shepard have called time on their relationship, it's been revealed. The media have been a bit slow getting hold of the news however, as it turns out that the pair - who'd been together for almost 30 years - actually quietly went their separate ways two years ago.
It brings an end to one of the few celebrity romances that seemed to have stood the test of both time and public scrutiny. The pair initially met on the set of 1982's 'Frances,' a biopic of tragic 1930s B-movie actress Frances Farmer - a name that also popped up in the Nirvana song 'Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge' - and fell in love from the off, staying largely away from the media glare of Hollywood and instead spending most of their time in Minnesota. Time away from Hollywood in fact allowed the pair to sustain already successful careers, with playwright Shepard writing well-received plays 'Fool For Love', 'Paris, Texas' and 'A Lie Of The Mind' in the 1980s, whilst Lange appeared in the critically successful 'Crimes Of The Heart'.
The pair quietened down in the 90s but have become busy again, with Lange appearing in two films that are in post-production at the moment, as well as appearing in successful TV series 'American Horror Story,' and Shepard appearing in the film 'Blackthorn'. The split was confirmed by a rep for the pair, reports The Miami Herald.
