Jesse Eisenberg Not Burdened By Humour
Jess Eisenberg didn't feel a "burden" to be funny in '30 Minutes or Less'.
The 'Social Network' actor explained it was "adventitious" for him to work with Aziz Ansari, as his co-star made scenes in the comedy movie "funny", allowing Jesse to take his part more "seriously" and ensure the film was still comical.
He said: "I felt that was adventitious for me because my character is going through a very intense situation and yet I know that the movie is a comedy. I didn't feel the burden of having to be very funny, I could be true to my character's situation and plight.
"Because Aziz is so funny and creative that I felt like if I'm in a scene with him, I could take it seriously and the scene would still be funny. Aziz is the greatest stand-up comedian."
The film tells the story of two criminals (Danny McBride and Nick Swardson) who kidnap a pizza delivery boy (Jesse) and force him to rob a bank with his best friend (Aziz) after strapping a bomb to his chest.
Jesse revealed the most comical part of the film was seeing how the two normal guys try to figure out how to steal the money.
He added to the Miami New times: "They buy ski masks, they buy toy guns, 'cause they can't get real guns, and spray paint them black to look real, buy five-hour energy drinks to maintain their stamina."
