Jerry Lee Lewis - Jerry Lee Lewis Marries Wife No.7: And It's His Cousin's Wife
Jerry Lee Lewis recently walked his seventh bride up the aisle, at the ripe old age of 76. And, never one to shy away from a controversial relationship, his new bride just happens to be his cousin's ex-wife, according to Associated Press today (March 30, 2012). The Adams Country circuit clerk's office revealed that the marriage license, confirms that Lewis married Judith Ann Coghlan Brown, 61, in Natchez, Mississippi.
Ann's sister, Carolyn Gremillion was one of only a handful of guests at the wedding. She told AP "They have a really very loving relationship. I guess she's probably really taken better care of him than anybody. He's a very different man now. You know how people change as they grow older. He's a very spiritual man." Lewis was apparently not available for comment at his home. Reporters that rang received a full mailbox message instead.
Jerry Lee is considered to be one of the innovators of early rock and roll music and wrote a number of influential hits such as 'Great Balls of Fire' and 'Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On." In 1958, a British journalist broke the news that Jerry Lee was married to his first cousin and, to make matters worse, she was only 13 years old. The girl, Myra Gale Brown, was Lewis' third wife. His last marriage, to Kerrie MCCarver, lasted 20 years but ended when he divorced her in 2004.
