Jermaine Jackson Not Performing At Michael Tribute Shows

Jermaine Jackson has distanced himself from planned shows in honour of his late brother Michael, insisting he will not be performing at the Japan fundraising gigs.

After the success of Saturday's (08Oct11) Michael Forever - The Tribute Concert in Cardiff, Wales, the Thriller hitmaker's mother Katherine announced two more shows in Tokyo, to raise funds for the survivors of Japan's earthquake and tsunami disasters.

Several of the King of Pop's siblings will be taking to the stage at the December (11) gigs, but Jermaine - who strongly objected to the Wales tribute, which featured stars including Cee Lo Green and Ne-Yo - is not one of them.

In a post on his Twitter.com page, he writes, "In response to (website) Tmz reports, I'd like to clarify that I won't be taking part in any planned tribute concert in Tokyo."

I have one problem with Jermaine's decision. I can remember when he was attempting a concert as a tribute to "his brother" without the consent of his whole family when Michael's death was very fresh in everyone's mind and heart but the plans fell through. Wasn't he going to perform? He has written his book that I'm sure will bring him a few dollars about "his brother" there once again he doesn't seem to have a problem with being a part of this. Why is he so much against "performing" to anything that is in tribute to Michael or that will be for what Michael stood for (like children charities).Im just glad that Michael's other siblings don't feel that refusing to use their talent to show the world that they all have Michael's back and as a family they will entertain for the masses since Michael (as much as this is what he was all about) would have done for them and for us!! Jermaine, Janet, and Randy really need to get off of it and do what they have been doing all of their lives and if it is a tribute of their brother Michael all the more reason to do so!!
