Jermaine Jackson - Jermaine Jackson: 'Farcical False Alarm Is Over'
Jermaine Jackson has taken to Twitter.com to assure fans the "farcical false alarm" about his mother's whereabouts has ended with police officials dropping the case.
A younger member of the Jackson family reported Katherine Jackson missing over the weekend (21Jul12) after the matriarch had failed to keep in touch with her grandchildren during a break with her daughter Rebbie in Arizona.
Her son, Jermaine, insisted his mother was "fine" but police carried out an investigation after his niece Paris and Katherine's attorney challenged his version of events on Sunday (22Jul12).
The confusion prompted the singer, who is currently touring with his brothers, to release a statement late on Sunday, which read: "Let me put to bed today's nonsense: as I made clear some days ago, Mother is safe and well in Arizona with her daughter and our sister, Rebbie, resting up on doctor's advice, so it is beyond me how she can be reported 'missing'... It dismays me that such an alarmist 'missing person' report has caused unnecessary anxiety among Michael's children, who will understandably react to what they misunderstand, hear or are told."
On Monday (23Jul12), police in Pima County confirmed Katherine is OK after interviewing the 82 year old at an undisclosed location in Arizona, where she is currently staying.
And Jermaine closed the drama on Monday afternoon, tweeting, "LA Co (Los Angeles County) Sheriffs have officially dropped the case that never was, confirming Mother is with family and ending this farcical false alarm."
Meanwhile, a family photograph of Katherine smiling at the camera during a game of Uno has emerged online. The shot was taken over the weekend.
