Jeremy Renner To Star In Motor City

Jeremy Renner is in line to star in 'Motor City'.

The 'Hurt Locker' actor is the latest person in line for the lead role in the thriller, and has entered negotiations to star alongside Amber Heard and Gary Oldman.

Chris Evans was initially due to play a man who is released from prison and goes on the hunt to find the man who framed him and reunite with the woman he loves, with Dominic Cooper then attached to the project for several months before he had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. Jake Gyllenhaal was then in line for the role, but production company Dark Castle and Warner Bros. were unable to secure a deal.

If Jeremy lands the role, he could have to pull out of negotiations for 'The Counselor', as it has a scheduled shooting date of May, just a month after work will begin on 'Motor City'.

'Motor City' will be directed by 'The Book of Eli' helmsman Albert Hughes from a script by Chad St. John. Joel Silver and Andrew Rona are producing while Douglas Urbanski and Ethan Erwin are executive producers.
