Jeremy Renner - Jeremy Renner Considering Wikileaks Film Role

Jeremy Renner is in talks to play Julian Assange in a WikiLeaks film.

The 'Bourne Legacy' actor has been approached by DreamWorks to play the controversial founder of the international online organisation responsible for leaking government documents.

DreamWorks are also reportedly eyeing up 'Twilight' helmer Bill Condon to direct the film, which could end up being independently financed, according to Deadline.com.

The production company secured the rights to two tell-all books in February, 'Inside WikiLeaks: My Time with Julian Assange at the World's Most Dangerous Website' by Daniel Domscheit-Berg and 'WikiLeaks: Inside Julian Assange's War on Secrecy', by David Leigh and Luke Harding, in order to research material for the film.

Two-time Oscar nominee and Julian lookalike Jeremy, 41, seems the ideal candidate to play the WikiLeaks founder, who established the infamous website in 2006 and is currently battling legal troubles.

He has sought asylum from Ecuador's embassy in the UK, where he is ''under the protection of the Ecuadorian state'', according to the South American country's authorities.

Several other studios have WikiLeaks films in the pipeline, with Universal and Marc Shmuger making an Alex Gibney-directed documentary, whilst HBO, Universal and Megan Ellison are also working on films.
