Jeremy Britt has been crowned 'the Biggest Loser' in this season's weight-loss reality TV show. The 23 year old managed to shed an impressive 199lbs of excessive weight and was rewarded with the $250,000 grand prize. Jeremy started the competition weighing in at 389 pounds, meaning that in total, he lost 51.16 per cent of his total body weight.
It took several hours on the treadmill, lots of "last-chance workouts" and plenty of healthy eating but Jeremy finally beat his determined competitors, including former professional wrestler Kim Nielsen and even his own sister, Conda. It wasn't a smooth ride to victory for Jeremy, though. At one point he threatened to walk from the show, when the producers introduced a twist that he deemed to be unfair. Britt was proud of his achievements, though, and said of the experience "It feels great. I felt like I was supposed to be here . I fought for it." Kim Nielsen wasn't far behind Jeremy, in second place. The single mother, with three children, lost a staggering 46.83 per cent of her start weight and what she lost in fat, she gained in confidence. "I don't know what my future holds," Kim said of the new life that she's about to start. "I'm ready for anything. I'm ready for everything."
Jeremy's sister Conda had not been a fan-favorite throughout the series, but she finished in third place, having lost 115 pounds. On learning of her place in the contest, Conda did not mention her lack of popularity on the show, but said "I came here for my daughter (Brooklyn). . I accomplished what I came here to do."
