The Superdome stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana went dark just minutes after Beyonce's stunning half-time show, forcing the big game to come to a halt for 34 minutes before the electricity could be restored.

And rather than sit around waiting for the game to resume, the spontaneous 40 year old decided to get the top of her left foot inked with a black floral design.

Showing off her new body art during an appearance on U.S. breakfast show Today on Monday (04Feb13), she said, "It's kind of still in pain... Basically during the blackout at the Super Bowl, (I) decided to do something besides gorge pizza, and I went next door and got a new tattoo... It could be my midlife crisis."
