Jennifer Love Hewitt Returns In 'The Client List' Series

Jennifer Love Hewitt is returning to television to produce and star in a Lifetime series based on the 2010 movie 'The Client List'. The network announced that Hewitt will play a Texas housewife who takes a day job at an "illicit" spa after being deserted by her husband, reports TheWrap.

The series, which has been given the green light for 10 initial episodes, will be created with Fedora Films. Over the course of the show, Hewitt's character attempts to balance life as a single mother with being a businessman, "working with a rowdy, sexy and unpredictable group of women", according to Lifetime. The series represents the actress's first major television role since her starring role in 'The Ghost Whisperer', which gained her a Golden Globe nomination. She will act as executive producer alongside Dannielle Thomas, Howard Braunstein, Michael Jeffe and Jordan Budde. Lifetime's president and general manager Nancy Dubuc claimed 'The Client List' is part of an overall strategy "to expand Lifetime's slate with unapologetic programming that will surprise audiences".

Recent rumours suggested Jennifer Love Hewitt was being lined up to replace Mariska Hargitay on 'Law & Order: Svu', however, the speculation has since cooled.
