Jennifer Lopez has become the latest to join the elite club of celebrities, commemorated with stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Lopez’s star, which also happens to be the 2,500th one on the infamous Walk, was unveiled yesterday in front of the W Hotel in an official ceremony, according to ABC Local.

Lopez, who is now 43, began her career back in 1999, when her very first single, “If You Had My Love” was released. The singer’s debut album “On The 6” followed later that year, selling 8 million copies in the US. She later repeated the success with her second studio offering, “J Lo.” The star is expected to release her sixth album later this year. In the meantime, J Lo has also worked on her film career. Despite the occasional box office flop, Lopez has plenty of movies under her belt, such as "Selena," "The Wedding Planner," "Monster-In-Law," "Maid in Manhattan," "Out of Sight," "The Back-up Plan," "What To Expect When You're Expecting" and more.

Jane Fonda, who worked with Lopez on “Monster-in-Law” congratulated the actress/singer and praised her work: "She should have an entire block of stars," Fonda said. "In my opinion, she's only scratched the surface of what she's capable of." At the event, Lopez made a short, but emotional speech. "I love you, thank you so much for going on this journey with me," she said. "This landmark moment inspires me to work harder and dream bigger for all that is the future. I hope you feel as I do that it was all worth it, and I hope that I have touched your hearts even in a small way."
