Jenni Rivera - Jenni Rivera Dominates Billboard's Latin Albums Chart19 December 2012
Fans of Jenni Rivera have clamoured to buy her records since her death earlier this month (Dec12) and the late star has now claimed the top three places on Billboard's Latin albums chart.
The singer perished in a plane crash in Mexico on 9 December (12), and stars including Eva Longoria, Jennifer Lopez and Ricky Martin rushed to pay tribute.
Now fans have given Rivera a posthumous chart boost - her new hits compilation La Misma Gran Senora debuts in the top spot with 27,000 sales.
Editors at Billboard.com report her 2011 releases Joyas Prestadas: Pop and Joyas Prestadas: Banda make up the top three, selling 14,000 and 13,000 copies respectively.
Rivera will be remembered in a public memorial at Los Angeles' Gibson Amphitheatre on Wednesday morning (19Dec12) and fan tickets were snapped up in under an hour.
Previous reports suggest the memorial will feature a star-studded line-up, including appearances by rapper Snoop Dogg, Rivera's longtime friend Gloria Estefan, and actor Edward James Olmos, who co-starred in the singer's debut film, Filly Brown.
