Jeff Conaway 'Not Doing Well' Says Dr Drew
Dr Drew, who worked with Conaway during a series of 'Celebrity Rehab', says the outlook looks bleak after visiting the actor in hospital for the second time. Speaking on his Twitter page on Friday (20th May 2011), Dr Drew had initially seemed optimistic, saying, "Just visited Jeff Conaway. He is stable & looks like he will recover from his pneumonia. Not an OD like press is alleging & certainly not dead". However, the 52-year-old tweeted again on Saturday, saying, "Still considered critical with #sepsis. Many people die from septic shock. yes, he is Very tenuous". Another message later in the day read, "yes, we all need to pray for him. Not doing well today suddenly". During his time on VH1's 'Celebrity Rehab', Conaway admitted his addiction to drugs and alcohol, while also revealing details of the sexual abuse that he suffered as a child.
Jeff Conaway, who began acting at the age of 2, rose to fame after playing 'Kenickie' in the hit movie 'Grease'. He went on to star as 'Bobby Wheeler' in 'Taxi' and later made appearances on 'Babylon 5' and 'Murder, She Wrote'.
